This course has only covered part of the VHDL language, but has hopefully served its purpose of giving newcomers to VHDL an introduction to this language.
Using the Xilinx XC9536XL CPLD, which has only a small amount of programmable logic, also limits the scope of this course and what can be implemented on the CPLD.
For those who have an interest in learning more of the VHDL language, a good book on VHDL would probably be the next step.
Also look at using CPLDs that have more programmable logic on-chip and FPGA devices as well. Look out for a FPGA / VHDL course on Starting Electronics in the future – no date promised for this yet.
